a jot ecology
i jot, note, list, and journal a lot of things digitally. especially during my workdays. in an attempt to be a little more present, at least in the eyes of other folk, i decided to create what i am calling a %%green%%jot ecology%%.
this jot ecology is based on subject-dedicated notebooks or personalised field notes notebooks. i maintain a general logbook and longer form journals as well within this notes-based ecology. %%blue%%the idea is to strengthen knowledge and retain memories based on each domain or subject matter%%. in this example: beer, mezcal, and coffee as well as quick daily logs to help with memory retention.
%%red%%strangely, even though i am not really "present" when i am writing field notes, or journaling, people are less offended when i do it in a book than when i am doing it on my phone%%. i think this has to do with how other people use their phones, not me. i suppose they suspect i am just on social media or something, but usually i am making notes or writing. %%green%%to calm their suspicions, it is just easier to write in a journal or notebook%%.
below are some examples of notebooks i have created. these ones are %%orange%%all typeset with html and css as an experiment (that worked!)%% and printed with my old laser printer.
