a month of poetry
i participated in (inter)national poetry this month by writing a poem a day for thirty days. the poems can be found tagged on my other site, kmnada.page.
i challenged myself after a full year in which i found myself unable to write any poetry at all. depressing. %%green%%this challenge gave me the confidence needed to write poetry again%%. i have written 15 chapbooks in the past, which you can find over at kmsgarden.com, and would like to start working towards a full book of poetry. so this renewed confidence is valuable to me.
%%yellow%%i am so happy to have found my poetic voice again%%. poetry is important to me. reading, writing, and sharing it maintains a sense of intimacy with the world around me. this intimacy helps me want to care and tend to the things, people, and environment around me. it keeps me mindful and less prone to selfish fits and spiralling in my own silly little thoughts and world. %%purple%%strange thing, this poetry%%. especially in how it brings the world closer and connects us.
