solarpunkifying our home
the office, solar powered
๐ my setup is dead simple: i have a vtoman flashspeed 1500 (1548wh, lifepo4) feeding an hp t740 thin client (arch+local llms), two monitors, a macbook air, and a starlink router. a vtoman vs220 Pro portable solar panel setup providing enough power for my nine-hour workdays, partial grid dependence if we have more than 2 consecutively cloudy days which is very rare here.
the garden
๐ง๏ธ a 1100 litre rain catcher, plus a 160 litre rain barrel, and a grey water ground filter into a 5 meter well.
๐๏ธ 162 litre rotating composter, paper recycling tub (for paper making).
๐จ๐ฝโ๐พ planted a 2 x 1 meter milpa bed ๐ ๐ซ๐ฝ๐ซ, three herb garden tubs ๐ฅฌ, seeding chilies ๐ถ๏ธ, and planted lime, orange, and mango trees.
these are examples of some convivial tools/things. tools/things that make us more capable rather than more dependent. %%red%%we are building autonomy%%.
next, i will start building the print and art studio into an existing lean-to structure.
and then in the coming years install a more perminant, though still modular and moveable, solar system.
