sprouts
our herb garden is sprouting. chives, basil, parsley, and leafy greens galore. our roots and tubers bed is also looking great. this weekend we will finish planting the milpa: squash, beans, red and rainbow corn, and tomato.
%%green%%since returning home we also feel like little sprouts%%. everything is old/new. same same, but very different. it has been so much work over the past two months, and there is so much work ahead. our routines are evolving and we are trying to prioritise what we think needs to come next.
%%yellow%%but we are short on funds%%, so we have had to get creative by recycling materials, asking friends for help, and trying to budget smartly ... but that ain't easy. either way, we are excited to rebuild a life here. it all feels warm and cosy.
this weekend is m.'s birthday, so we will feast and celebrate with friends. i will make m.'s favorite dish: mussels with leek in white wine and butter. i will also grill a ton of tasajo and veggies and make a few salsas. looking forward to it.
